Iolite from Tanzania Region of Africa, most of the pieces
have strong blue/purple colour on the C axis, this is suitable for Cabbing
and also faceting. Its grading would be VS, as is common with Iolite rough.
I have a very limited supply of this rough. If oriented correct these will
turn out bright gems.
Iolite polishes best with Cerium Oxide.
Please note that because of the irregular shapes of facet rough, the measurements are from one point to another and some shapes can be odd, so if you have any inquiries please feel free to contact us, and I will take an individual photo of the stone number you are interested in.
